Upcycling A Bobbin Style Lamp Base

I’ve been searching for a bobbin style lamp for my office for a while. The ones I’ve come across for sale are gorgeous but a little pricey. I knew if I waited long enough I would come across something in the charity shop… and I struck gold last week

These lovely lamps were £5 in my local charity shop. I removed the lampshades and used a spray paint from Rust-oleum in cherry red.

Homesense is always worth checking out for lampshades and I picked up two lovely fabric shades for £10.

And for a grand total of £30 I have two lovely new lamps.

I’ve done a little research for those of you who would rather buy than upcycle and there are some beauties online.
